Aid and Development- Africa
Aid and development are important components of Canada's relationship with the developing countries of Africa. This section is intended to highlight some of main elements that are present within Africa, and outline key aid and development initiatives run by Canada.
Canadian Programs in Africa :
African and International Programs in Africa:
- African Development Bank (ADB) - financial development institution of Africa, dedicated to combatting poverty and improving the lives of people of the continent and engaged in the task of mobilising resources towards the economic and social progress of its Regional Member Countries.
- Commonwealth - helps to advance democracy, human rights and sustainable economic and social development within its member countries and beyond.
- United Nations (UN):
Economic Commission for Africa - supports the economic and social development of its 53 member States, foster regional integration, and promotes international cooperation for Africa's development.
United Nations Development Program (UNDP) - is the un's global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life.
