The Coordination and Corporate Secretariat in Executive Services has the mandate for the Transport Canada Acts and Regulations Web site. Your queries/ comments, and technical concerns can be submitted by using the Contact Us button on the top menu bar.

2. How often is the Acts and Regulations site updated?

The site is updated regularly with information from the following sources:

  • Canada Gazette Part II;

The latest consolidated Acts and Regulations are available (in HTML format) on the Web at: http://www.tc.gc.ca/acts-regulations/menu.htm.

3. Where can I get a published paper copy of the consolidated Acts and Regulations?

Printed copies of the individual Canada Gazette, Part I, Part II or Part III, as well as the Consolidation for Regulations 1978, and the Consolidation for Acts 1985, can be obtained from the government publications office, at the following address:

The list of Acts for which the Minister of Transport is responsible or shares responsibility is available on the Acts and Regulations site at:

http://www.tc.gc.ca/acts-regulations/listofacts/menu.htm

At present, the most frequently requested Acts and Regulations are available. Additional material is added as time permits, or in response to a specific client request.

6. How can I print the material?

A printable version button is available for your printing needs. The printed material is a copy of the HTML material available on site, without the side bar menus. Further information is available at the following link: Printing the Transport Canada Acts and Regulations

7. How can I download and install Acts and Regulations to my hard disk?

Instructions for downloading and installing Acts and Regulations to a hard disk in Executable (EXE) or ZIP formats are available at the following link:

http://www.tc.gc.ca/acts-regulations/files/instructions/menu.htm

The content of both files is the same. The EXE is a self-extractable file. The ZIP version requires the WIN ZIP program to uncompress the files.

9. Why can't I get the information for Acts and Regulations in PDFs?

Due to the volume of material on the site, the frequency of updates, and the absence of search capabilities for PDF documents, the material is only available in HTML. Further information is available at the following link: Printing the Transport Canada Acts and Regulations

Printing the Transport Canada Acts and Regulations

Text printing:

A printable document solution is included on all our Acts and Regulations pages. Once you have located the document you would like to print, select the "printable version" button (at the top of the page, on the right side). Once pressed, a new page will appear without the Common Look and Feel template. This will allow you to view the document on the full screen.

Please note that these "printable version" documents are generated by an active server script. This server-side script generates a new document on request. Therefore, all "printable version" documents should be used on a page-by-page basis for printing only. Hyperlinks will not function on these server-generated documents.

Table printing:

Due to the Common Look and Feel template, some larger tables cannot be printed directly in their actual sizes. These tables can be viewed full size and/or printed by selecting the hyperlink at the top left and using the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). A free PDF reader can be found at the following link: http://www.adobe.com
