Foreign Credentials

Non-Canadian certifications, licences and education

Candidates with foreign credentials such as education, certifications and licences will be required to provide proof of Canadian equivalency. You can consult The Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials at www.cicic.ca for further information.

Required licence for Civil Aviation Inspectors:

• Airline Transport Pilot Licence – Aeroplane or Helicopter
• Commercial Pilot Licence

Required licence for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and Civil Aviation Safety Inspectors:

• Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence

Required certifications for Marine Safety Inspectors:

• Marine Engineer - Class 1 or Class 2 (motor, steam or combined)
• Master Mariner or Master Foreign Going Certificate of Competency
• Master Local Voyage (formerly CN1)

Citizenship Requirement for employment purposes

Preference will be given to Canadian citizens. Please indicate in your application the reason for which you are entitled to work in Canada: Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status or work permit. More useful information about Citizenship requirements can be obtained on the Public Service Commission web site.

Even if you are not a Canadian citizen, you are still entitled to apply and be considered for positions, in cases where there is an insufficient number of potentially qualified Canadian citizens.
