Human Resources
The environment and environmental issues touch just about every facet of our lives. As a field of study or career choice, the environment sector offers a broad range of possibilities worth exploring.
- Human Resources Management: an information source on human resource management, recruitment, occupational health and safety, labour laws, training and skills development, pay and benefits, entrepreneurship, sector information and much more.
- Environmental Careers Organization of Canada (ECO Canada): formerly know as Canadian Council for Human Resources in the Environment Industry (CCRHIE) is a not-for-profit corporation that assists the Canadian environment sector in implementing sound human resource development policies. ECO Canada developed a national human resource strategy that is focused on the needs of environmental practitioners, employers and educators.
- Comité sectoriel de main-d'oeuvre de l'environnement: a joint action agency (directors, unions, governments) playing a part in training, employment development and human resources in Quebec. (in French only).
- Canadian Society for Training and Development (CSDT): a not-for-profit membership association dedicated to the profession of training, workplace learning and human resources development.
- Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC): help private industry take a lead role in addressing its human resource challenges. See:
- Youth Path: helps youth bridge the gap between education and employment. It helps prepare young people to find jobs and directs them to a full range of employment opportunities.

- Global Volunteer Network: a non profit organisation that places volunteers in community projects in China, Ecuador, Ghana, Nepal, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Thailand, and Uganda. Volunteers have the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational, environmental and community aid programs.
