Nunavut at Five: A Celebration of Canada's Newest Territory in New York

About 200 people gathered in the Rotunda of the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) on April 15 for Nunavut at Five: A Celebration of Canada's Newest Territory, signifying the fifth anniversary of Nunavut's creation. With a presentation by Nunavut Commissioner Peter Irniq and a subsequent performance by singer/singwriter Susan Aglukark, the two-hour event was a grand success in highlighting the evolution of Canada's newest territory and its Inuit-dominated system of government.
