I travelled to Australia in February for a personal visit with relatives in Melbourne. While there, I took advantage of the opportunity to travel to Canberra, where I was the guest of Canada's High Commissioner, Jean Fournier. Jean is a former colleague of mine: when he was the Deputy Solicitor General for Canada, he was my Federal counterpart, and he and I worked together on the RCMP agreement for Nunavut, which was the first Federal/Territorial agreement signed by the Interim Commissioner for the new Territory of Nunavut in 1998.
