Citizenship: Preference will be given to Canadian citizens. Functions: Engineers in the Regional Offices provide regulatory oversight of aircraft modification and repair projects undertaken by airlines, maintenance organizations, private engineering consultants and aircraft owners. Aircraft types range from gliders to airline transports. The technical knowledge required to do this work results in personnel whose engineering expertise lies in areas such as: aircraft structures, materials, mechanical systems, electrical systems, avionics and navigational systems, powerplants, engines and aircraft performance. Functions include managing certification projects:
Employees also participate in regional and national audits of major airlines and maintenance organizations where aircraft certification activities take place. Aircraft types range from gliders to airline transports. About the Organization: Regional Aircraft Certification Engineers at Transport Canada work within the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Safety and Security Group.
