Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must fully demonstrate in their application that they meet all of the minimum qualifications.

Education:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position or eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position

Experience

Significant and recent experience in one or more of the following aeronautical engineering discipline related to the functions of the positions:

  • Project Management
  • Continuing Airworthiness
  • Delegations and Quality
  • Aircraft Structures
  • Avionics and Electrical Systems
  • Electronic equipment design assurance
  • Fuel and hydro mechanical control systems
  • Occupant safety and environmental systems
  • Powerplants and Emissions
  • Flight Test
  • Policy, technology and special projects
  • Regulatory Standards

Citizenship:

Preference will be given to Canadian citizens. Functions:

Within the Aircraft Certification Branch, the Policy, Technology and Special Projects Division acts as the focal point (Regional Desk) for technical inquiries and concerns from Transport Canada Regional Offices and manages the Branch activity reporting system, which supports cost recovery initiatives, operational planning and management oversight of Branch activities.

The Division also manages Ministerial Briefing Notes, Question Period Notes and requests for information under the Access to Information Act.

About the Organization:

Support Engineers at Transport Canada work within the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Safety and Security Group. The Civil Aviation headquarters directorate determines program contents, policy and standards, while the regions deliver the program. Within the Aircraft Certification Branch of the Civil Aviation Directorate, the Policy, Technology and Special Projects Division provides support for national aircraft certification activities and the management of Branch-wide projects. These services are provided to the Canadian public, the Canadian aeronautical design and manufacturing industry, Canadian operators and Foreign Airworthiness Authorities. Special projects requiring multi-disciplinary or inter-Branch involvement are managed within this Division.
