From " no good job " to THE job! What a little help can do…

Derrick Field Derrick Field
- Blackstar Pre-Trade Apprenticeship
Thank-you Métis Nation of Alberta, the Labour Market Development Unit Zone 4 and ACES 2000 for supporting me through the Pre-apprenticeship program. I was underemployed and I achieved my goal to become indentured as an electrician. I am now making the most money I've ever made in my life!

Dana Chartrand
Mine Operations I appreciate all the time and effort that was given by the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region I, in Fort McMurray. With funding from them I was able to complete the Mine Operations program at Keyano College and I am now employed with Syncrude Canada. Above is a photograph of me standing beside a heavy hauler, the oilsands equipment I now operate.

Mark Ducharme
- Carpenter Apprentice
I was funded through Region VI of the Métis Nation of Alberta for the Integrated Trades Program at Fairview College. The program gave me the confidence I needed to become a carpenter apprentice. The dedicated instructors at Fairview College provided a tutorial, when I was unable to pass my first period exam, which enabled me to pass my re-write. I am now employed with Shanco Camp Services Ltd. as a registered carpenter apprentice.
