Rural Team NWT Information and Communications Technology Symposium Move to Fall 2006

The response to the Broadband Symposium has been very positive with huge demand for information on Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The demand for attendance at the Symposium has far exceeded what the planning committee originally planned for. Subsequently, we are excited to announce that we have rescheduled the Symposium for this fall in order to meet this demand and ensure expectations of all the participants are addressed. The Planning Committee and the Smart Communities Society will keep you informed as to any developments as they are planned and we look forward to announcing the new dates in the near future.

Call for Photos

Aurora Section

Spirits in the Sky, our Aurora mini-site, is so popular we're keeping it up all year long! Everyone seems to be enjoying the Aurora content we've collected, so we've decided to keep this mini-site up through the summer. We can't see the Aurora now, as it's summer in Yellowknife and not very dark at night, so we will be using this down-time to revamp and expand upon our Aurora section for the upcoming season, which starts in August. In the meantime, you can still access Spirits in the Sky here.

Yellowknife Aurora Photos Updated!

After the intense Aurora activity the past couple of nights, we have a flood of new Aurora photographs in the gallery, and more to post yet! Click here to check out the Aurora Photo Gallery.

Yellowknife Artist Francois Thibault in the Looknorth Gallery

World-reknowned Yellowknife artist Francois Thibault is featured in our looknorth.ca gallery. T-Bo, as he is known around town, had his work featured on the cover of Gems and Geology, the first Diamond jewellery designer to be featured on the cover in over 70 years. GIA covers are a privilege shared by few and generally by industry leaders such as Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston, Idar-Oberstein, Barakat, and Cartier. Click here to view T-Bo's profile and gallery.
