Bill C-29 Update: Section 78.6 Patent Act

Act now! The deadline for making payments pursuant to section 78.6 of the Patent Act (C-29) is fast approaching. Fee payments must be stamped in the CIPO office on or before February 1, 2007, in order to be deemed compliant with this legislation. See updated C-29 information on how to make your payments and for information on proposed amendments to the Patent Rules.

Search tool for the Trade-marks Wares and Services Manual

The searchable database will enable trade-mark examiners, trade-mark agents and trade-mark applicants to better search for acceptable terminology when describing their wares or services. Being able to specifically describe one's wares or services correctly greatly reduces the processing time for applications.

These commitments include providing clients with the highest quality service possible, and continuously improving these services. We recognize that service standards are an essential part of good management, and that clients are entitled to know what service delivery to expect.
