Learning for Life II: Brighter Futures Together
On May 12, 2005, the province of Nova Scotia introduced a new plan for education,
Learning for Life II: Brighter Futures Together. Developed in collaboration with hundreds of education
partners, this plan will see $21.4 million invested in 2005/06 to begin implementing initiatives to help

The new plan focuses on helping all students reach their full potential by
encouraging them to live active, healthy lives, by providing more support for smaller class sizes and
special education, and continuing to target resources to areas that need support, like literacy and
math. It also recognizes that the skills and knowledge students learn today will directly affect their
quality of life tomorrow and will benefit our communities, industries and the entire province.
