Pwi-Di-Goo-Zing Ne-Yaa-Zhing
Pwi-Di-Goo-Zing Ne-Yaa-Zhing Advisory Services' mission is to provide
advice and training, which will further develop management skills and
create new opportunities for First Nations people. PWI also provides professional,
effective and responsive assistance. These services include economic development,
housing, financial, technical, Indian registration and fire protection.
The Advisory Services was created to provide assistance to First Nations
within the Rainy River District. They are governed by a Board of Directors,
which consists of one representative from each of the seven member First
Nations. The seven communities represented are: Couchiching First Nation,
Lac La Croix First Nation, Naicatchewenin First Nation, Nicickousemenecaning
First Nation, Rainy River First Nation, Seine River First Nation, and
Stanjikoming First Nation.
National Aboriginal Capital Corporation Association (NACCA)
The National Aboriginal Capital Corporation Association (NACCA) is an
organization which consists of 55 Aboriginal Financial Institutions (AFIs).
AFI's are community owned and controlled by Aboriginal boards. These institutions
provide developmental financial products and services in their respective
communities. The mission of the NACCA is to assist AFIs to promote the
growth of Aboriginal business. As well, the vision of the NACCA is to
provide products and services to AFIs and Aboriginal focused organizations
including institutional capacity - building, training, access to capital,
advocacy, partnerships and member services with quality and accountability.
Business Development Bank of Canada
The Business Development Bank of Canada is a financial institution wholly
owned by the Government of Canada. BDC plays a leadership role in delivering
financial, investment and consulting services to Canadian small businesses,
with a particular focus on the technology and export sectors of the economy.

With more than 20,000 Aboriginals running their own businesses, Aboriginal
communities show higher rates of new business creation and self-employment
growth than the Canadian average. With this increased activity comes the
need for a greater variety of consulting and financial services. BDC's
Aboriginal Banking Unit consists of Aboriginal people well aware of the
specific needs of Aboriginal entrepreneurs, and play a lead role in the
development and delivery of BDC's customized, long-term, and flexible
solutions.
FedNor
As the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario, FedNor's
mandate is to promote economic growth, diversification, job creation and
sustainable, self-reliant communities in Northern Ontario by working with
community partners and other organizations to improve small business access
to capital, information and markets. FedNor is committed to helping traditionally
under-represented populations (e.g: Aboriginals, Francophones, women and
youth) participate more fully in economic development, and will continue
to play a strong leadership role in partnership with community and business
leaders to facilitate Northern Ontario's transition to a knowledge-based
economy.
