DANGEROUS GOODS, CARGO TRANSPORT UNIT INSPECTIONS IN CANADA
SUMMARY OF DEFICIENCIES
For the Year 2004

A total of 357 inspections were recorded.
197 Units or (55%) had one or more deficiencies distributed as follows:

108 deficiencies Placarding and marking were found (in 30% of inspections).

 

79 deficiencies Stowage/Securing were found (in 22% of inspections).

 

47 deficiencies Labelling (of packages) were found (in 13% of inspections).

 

35 deficiencies Documentation were found (in 10% of inspections).

 

10 deficiencies Packaging  (inappropriate or damaged)  were found (in 3% of inspections).

 

8 deficiencies Container Safety Convention (CSC) Safety Approval Plate were found (in 2% of inspections).

 

8 deficiencies Other were found (in 2% of inspections).

 

4 deficiencies Portable tank or road tank vehicles (inappropriate or damaged) were found (in 1% of inspections).

 

1 deficiency Segregation of cargo was found (in 1% of inspections).
