in Quebec 2003-2004
Regional Partnerships Fund
This program is designed to help First Nations and Inuit participate in
major regional development projects in areas such as infrastructures,
tourism and resource development, while also deriving greater economic
benefits from these initiatives.
Total funding for 2003-2004: $2,475,000
Opportunity Fund
This program provides financial aid in the form of matching equity funding.
The objective is to use the funding to obtain conventional debt financing
for business start-ups or business expansion.
Total funding for 2003-2004: $1,199,743
Resource Acquisition Initiative
This program provides greater opportunities for First Nation and Inuit
communities to finance business start-ups or expansions in order to develop
markets in the natural resource sector.
Total funding for 2003-2004: $1,038,032
Resource Access Negotiations Program
This program helps First Nation and Inuit communities with negotiations
to access business and employment opportunities in major resource projects,
attract investment in on-reserve natural resources, access off-reserve
natural resources, and participation in the management of off-reserve
natural resources.
Total funding for 2003-2004: $795,000
Resource Partnerships Program
This program co-funds the strategic planning and negotiations leading
to the creation and early implementation of a joint working agreement.
The goal is to help First Nation and Inuit communities obtain economic
benefits from major regional resource-development projects.
Total funding for 2003-2004: $197,352
Marshall Strategy
This program provides financial assistance for economic development as
well as capacity building in Aboriginal communities affected by the Marshall
decision.
Total funding for 2003-2004: $353,990
