Josée has been with CANUTEC since December 2003.  Prior to her employment with CANUTEC, she has worked with Environment Canada in the wastewater treatment field and with the University of Ottawa as an ecotoxicology technician.  

Josée obtained her Honors B. Sc. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Ottawa in 2002.  She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Environmental Management with the University of Sherbrooke.

Her present responsibilities are shared between CANUTEC’s Emergency Centre and her personal research projects.  While in the Centre, she provides technical advice to emergency responders and coordinates response activities during chemical emergencies. Her duties also include providing advice on the safe handling and transportation of dangerous goods according to applicable acts & regulations.

 

Josée has successfully completed the NFPA 472 Awareness, Operations and  Technician level Hazardous Material Response, the AAR Tank Car Specialist, AAR Highway Emergency Response Specialist training as well as other courses and seminars related to chemical release and emergency response.  Furthermore, she has completed the Inspector level course for the TDGR Clear Language (Canada).
