Eric has been with CANUTEC since February 2001. Prior to his employment with CANUTEC, he taught chemistry and physics at the high school level.

Eric obtained his B. Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Ottawa in 1992 and his B. Ed. from the same university in 1993.

His present responsibilities are shared between CANUTEC’s Emergency Centre and his personal research. While in the Centre, he provides technical advice to emergency responders and coordinates response activities during chemical emergencies. His duties include providing advice on the safe handling and transportation of dangerous goods according to applicable acts & regulations.

 

Eric has completed the NFPA 472 Operations-level and Technician-level Hazmat and the AAR Tank Car Specialist, AAR Highway Emergency Response Specialist training as well as other courses and seminars related to chemical release and emergency response. Furthermore, he has completed the Inspector level courses for the TDGR Clear Language Regulations (Canada) and Title 49 CFR (USA) and participated in a session of the TDG Aviation Inspector recurrent training program related to ICAO Technical Instructions.
