Denis has been with CANUTEC since July 2001. Prior to his employment with CANUTEC, he has worked in the pulp and paper industry, the chemical industry and also in pesticide related enzymology.

Denis obtained his Honors B.Sc.in Biochemistry trom the University of Ottawa in 1989.

His present responsibilities are shared between CANUTEC's Emergency Centre and his personnal research. While in the Centre, he provides technical advice to emergency responders and coordinates response activities during chemical emergencies. His duties include providing advice on the safe handling and transportation of dangerous goods according to applicable acts & regulations.

Denis has completed the NFPA 472 Operations-level and Technician-level Hazmat training and the AAR Highway Emergency Response Specialist.  Furthermore, he has completed the inspector level courses for the TDGR Clear Language (Canada) and participated in a session of the TDG Aviation Inspector recurrent training program related to ICAO Technical Instructions.
