Welcome to Indian and Northern Affairs Canada's (INAC) Modern Comptrollership Web site. This site has been developed to enable departmental staff and other visitors to this site to enhance their knowledge of this important government-wide initiative and, more specifically, how the department is sustaining the momentum of Modern Comptrollership.
Modern Comptrollership is a shared responsibility that cuts across the organization, whereby decisions at every level integrate shared values and ethics, risk management, performance information, and appropriate controls. |
At INAC the term "Modern Comptrollership" is synonymous with "Sound Management Practices". INAC's vision of Modern Comptrollership is that of a risk smart organization focussed on achieving results and guided by solid values, strong stewardship and accountability.
Modern Comptrollership is built on four fundamental pillars: shared values and ethics, mature risk management, integrated performance information, and appropriate controls. These pillars support decisions at every level of the department's management structure, and are facilitated by three strong enablers: strategic leadership, motivated people, and clear accountability.
This Web site is operated by Corporate Services and is intended to ensure ready access to comptrollership information and related linkages.
Additional information regarding the government-wide Modern Comptrollership initiative is available on the Treasury Board Secretariat's Modern Comptrollership Web site.
