Background - The Aboriginal and Northern Climate Change Program (ANCCP)

ANCCP was a project that took place between 2001 and 2003. The objective was to facilitate the engagement of Aboriginal peoples and northerners in climate change activities. It was the success of this program that prompted the federal government to commit the money that is currently funding the Aboriginal and Northern Community Action Program (ANCAP) which builds on and realizes the ideas that were initiated during the ANCCP.
