Economic Development

INAC's economic development programs support economic development in First Nation and Inuit communities by providing funding to community organizations or organizations they designate. These organizations use the funding for their economic development initiatives and the delivery of services to community members. For example, recipients may use the funding to provide business information to community entrepreneurs, negotiate partnerships and other economic agreements, and develop economic infrastructure such as access roads.

INAC also works with public and private sector partners to increase First Nation, Inuit and Métis participation in the workforce across Canada. In addition, INAC’s programs assist Aboriginal businesses in selling to the federal government.

On this site, you will find more information about INAC's economic development programs and services, including descriptions, guidelines, applications, how to manuals and contact information.
