About the Treaty Information Sessions

The Treaty Policy Directorate offers free speakers on a wide range of topics, such as:

  • The importance of treaties
  • Historical context
  • The current treaty relationship
  • Treaty rights and the courts

Why book a speaker?

Taken together, historic treaties affect

  • 369 First Nations;
  • Nine Provinces;
  • Three Territories; and
  • More than 499 000 First Nations people

Maybe you want to learn more about historic treaties in Canada. You may have heard about treaty commissions or organizations. Or maybe you want to learn more about the treaty relationship between the Crown and First Nations.

We are here to help you understand all the issues about Canada's historic treaties. Our speakers will design a presentation that will educate any group on historic treaties all within the context of Canada's rich history and its bright future.

What presentation is right for you?

The Treaty Policy Directorate will work with your business association, community group, classroom, or association to pinpoint the best speaker and most appropriate topic for your organization. Our expert staff members can deliver a presentation that will educate, enlighten, and entertain any group.
