Welcome to Indian and Northern Affairs Canada's Public Registry for environmental assessments in the Nunavut Region.Wilberforce Falls, Kitikmeot Region, Nunavut

Under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 1992, a federal responsible authority (RA) has obligations to meet with respect to access to information.

Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) is committed to facilitating public participation in the environmental assessments of projects to be carried out in Nunavut. This site provides information on Projects in Nunavut which Indian and Northern Affairs Canada is a responsible federal authority. Aside from this source, to find environmental assessments that have been carried out under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA) is the Federal Environmental Assessment Index (FEAI), an electronic database which provides basic information on the federal environmental asessments.

In the Nunavut region, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada works closely with the Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB) to screen and review environmental assessments. The Nunavut Impact Review Board, which conducts the EA process under the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement, has an ftp site where documents related to projects undergoing screening and review can also be found.
