Co-register an Aircraft in Canada?
For Two or More Owners

Each owner: |
| Responsibilities |
- must ensure that the aircraft is certified and maintained in accordance with
the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs);
- is responsible for ensuring application fee(s) payment;
- must notify Transport Canada, Civil Aviation if
- there is a change in permanent address, in writing, within seven
days of that change,
- there is a change in any or all of the owners, in writing, within
seven days of that change,
- the aircraft is destroyed, permanently withdrawn from use or exported,
within seven days,
- the aircraft is missing on a flight, by the quickest means of communication
available;
- may be subject to legal action if damage is caused by, or through,
the operation of the aircraft;
- may be held responsible for the operation of the aircraft, if it
is in violation of the CARs.

| Registration Application |
The aircraft registration process is the same as for one owner applying for
registration. For specific documentation on how to register your aircraft, please
refer to the appropriate document: |
| Mail Recipient |
Applicants must choose one person to be the mail recipient and
place that person's name first on the application for registration form.
Only the mail recipient will receive safety information such as Safety
Notices, Airworthiness Directives, Notices to Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and
Aircraft Owners from Transport Canada, Civil Aviation. You should make sure that
each owner is aware of who the mail recipient is. |
| Document Obtained |
You will receive a Certificate of Registration. It will reflect the names of
all the owners, but only the address of the mail recipient. |

| Change in Owners
A change in any or all owners must be provided to Transport Canada, Civil
Aviation in writing within seven days. The Certificate of Registration
will be cancelled and the aircraft cannot be flown until an Interim Certificate
of Registration is activated or the aircraft receives a new Certificate of

Change of Address
Transport Canada, Civil Aviation must be advised in writing within seven
days of any change of permanent address. Only a change in the
mail recipient's permanent address will result in the issurance of a
new Certificate of Registration.
Change of Mail Recipient
Transport Canada, Civil Aviation must be advised in writing if the mail
recipient changes. This will result in the issuance of a new Certificate
of Registration. |
