Notice No. SMSE-006-06 — Publication of ICES-001, Issue 4

Notice is hereby given that Industry Canada is publishing the following document:

Interference-Causing Equipment Standard - 001 (ICES-001): Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) Radio Frequency Radiators, Issue 4.

ICES-001, Issue 4 sets out mandatory requirements for limits and methods of measurement of radio frequency noise emissions from ISM equipment. It was prepared in response to the adoption by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) of CEI/IEC CISPR 11: 2003 (fourth edition, 2003-03) as CSA Standard CAN/CSA-CEI/IEC CISPR 11-4. This CSA standard is incorporated by reference in ICES-001, Issue 4 for prescribing limits and methods of measurement of radio noise from ISM equipment. This is the latest edition of this international standard and was adopted to maintain harmonization with international requirements.

The above document will come into force as of the date of publication of this notice.

This document has been coordinated with the Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC).

The Radio Equipment Technical Standards Lists will be amended to include this new issue.

Interested parties should submit their comments within 90 days of the date of publication of this notice. Shortly after the close of the comment period, all comments received will be posted on Industry Canada's Spectrum Management and Telecommunications website at: http://strategis.gc.ca/spectrum.
