Julie
has been with CANUTEC since August 2002. Prior to her employment with
CANUTEC, she taught mathematics, sciences and English in high school.
Julie
obtained a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences with a major in Microbiology from
the University of Montreal
1997.
She worked as a laboratory technician at McGill University’s Plant
Physiology Department before receiving a B.Ed. from the University
of Ottawa in 2000 and a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
from the University of Quebec in Hull
in 2001.
Her
present responsibilities are shared between CANUTEC’s Emergency Center and
her personal research. While in the Center, she provides technical advice to
emergency responders and coordinates response activities during chemical
emergencies. Her duties include providing advice on the safe handling and
transportation of dangerous goods according to applicable acts &
regulations.
