Geneviève has been with CANUTEC since January 2006. Prior to her employment with CANUTEC, she has worked at the Canadian Conservation Institute, as a conservation scientist, in the Analytical and Research Laboratory where she was using physical and chemical methods to study the materials and structure of artifacts and works of art.

Geneviève obtained her B. Sc. in Chemistry from the Université Laval in 1999.

Her present responsibilities are shared between CANUTEC’s Emergency Centre and her personal research projects.  While in the Centre, she provides technical advice to emergency responders and coordinates response activities during chemical emergencies. Her duties also include providing advice on the safe handling and transportation of dangerous goods according to applicable acts & regulations.

Geneviève has successfully completed the NFPA 472 Awareness, Operations and  Technician level Hazardous Material Response and the AAR Highway Emergency Response Specialist training.  Furthermore, she has completed the Inspector level course for the TDGR Clear Language (Canada).
