Manufacturing Sector: Tooling and Machining Trades

On Jan 11, 2001 a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed with industry representatives and the Ontario Government that allows for the streamlined processing of foreign workers qualified to work in the following occupations in the manufacturing sector:

  • Tool and Die Maker
  • Mould Maker
  • Foundry Pattern Maker

Construction

On Sept 24, 2004 a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed with the Greater Toronto Home Builders' Association (GTHBA) and Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) that allows for the streamlined processing of foreign workers qualified to work in the following occupations in the construction sector:

  • Bricklayers
  • Framers
  • Carpenters
  • Formworkers
  • Cement Finishers
  • Drywallers
  • Tilesetters
  • Installers 
  • Construction Labourers

Agricultural Programs and Services administers the Caribbean and Mexican Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program in Ontario. The following agreements have been signed that allow for the streamlined processing of foreign workers qualified to work in the agricultural sector.
