The territory is located south of the Hudson Strait, on the eastern shore of Wakeham Bay, 420 kilometres north of Kuujjuaq. The crater of New Québec (Pingualuit) lies 100 kilometres to the village. Kangiqsujuaq is on the 61st parallel.
