Recall of USCG Approved Inflatable PFD

SOS Inc., (SOSPENDERS brand), of Fruitland, ID, alerted the United States Coast Guard, distributors and public that they are recalling approximately 7,200 automatic inflatable personal flotation devices (PFDs or life jackets) to investigate a safety defect involving the Hammar model MA1 Manual/Automatic inflators.

Note: This PFD model is not Canadian approved. The manufacturer was contacted and indicated that they only export Canadian approved products to Canada. Therefore, this recall does not affect any product purchased from Canadian retailers of these devices. However, this notice is provided as a public service to anyone who may have purchased such a device in the United States.

Please visit the USCG Web site for more information on the recall: http://www.uscgboating.org/alerts/alertsview.aspx?id=15
