This holiday season switch to LED

For Islanders who want to celebrate the holidays in the spirit of energy efficiency, light emitting diode (LED) lights offer a powerful and colorful opportunity. LED lighting uses up to 90% less electricity than incandescent lights. A typical 24’ 70 light set uses only 4 watts and costs about the same to purchase as three 25 light 5 watt traditional incandescent light sets. They are durable and cool to the touch. Most manufacturers report that LED lighting pays for itself in one season and last for more than 20 years. In fact, most are designed to last up to 200,000 hours.
