Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) transfers funds to First Nations and First Nations organisations for the delivery of programs and services on reserve. Since reserve land is owned by the Government of Canada (Crown) on behalf of First Nations, INAC is also involved in some aspects of the management of reserve lands according to the Indian Act.

INAC focuses on building government to government relationships and fostering effective First Nations governance as a foundation for self-reliant communities.

Please follow the links above for information on the delivery of INAC BC Region programs and services in partnership with First Nations governments.

Many other government departments, federal and provincial, also provide services and support to First Nations governments. For more information on Child and Youth Programs, Jobs and Training, Housing, Land and Environment, Arts and Culture and Justice, Legal Issues and Taxation, visit Other Government Programs and Services.
