Programs for Aboriginal Canadian Youth
Indigenous Peoples Partnership Programme (IPPP)
As of June 30, 2003, applications for funding from the IPPP will be received
throughout the year. Proposals that are eligible for funding will be
forwarded to the IPPP Review Committee. The Review Committee will meet
approximately every four months. For the remainder of the 2003 calendar
year regular sessions of the Review Committee have been proposed for July
30 and October 30.

Pacific Peoples' Partnership's (PPP) Youth-to-Youth Project works with First Nations youth to identify and articulate their concerns about the key environmental issues that they are confronting in their communities and to facilitate their efforts to develop and implement strategies for change. Indigenous youth in Canada and the Pacific will be engaged in the sharing of strategies and experiences around key environmental resource conservation and management issues. PPP aims to build on long-standing relationships with partners in the Pacific region as well as in First Nations communities throughout Canada.

The Asia-Pacific and Human Resources Branches of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade launched an Aboriginal Recruitment Initiative (ARI) at their Headquarters on January 31, 2003. This initiative is an important step in furthering the dialogue between the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and Canada's Aboriginal student community. With the participation and encouragement of those working with Aboriginal Students across the country, the Department can achieve a workforce that is representative of Canada's diverse society, including our dynamic Aboriginal community.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade's (DFAIT) International Youth Programs website publishes information on numerous work abroad and academic programs for Canadian youth between the ages of 18 and 30.
Youth Path is a major government site for Canadian youth with an International section of opportunities divided into Exchanges, Volunteers, and Interns.
Canada World Youth offers a variety of youth programs for Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
