Welcome to the April 2003 issue of Aboriginal Planet! Aboriginal Planet Online Magazine reports on Aboriginal Canadian events taking place around the world and on important international aboriginal events in Canada. New this month, we announce the recent launch of the Aboriginal Recruitment Initiative (ARI) at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) Headquarters. The event brought together educators, career counsellors and Aboriginal students in an effort to promote the career opportunities available to Aboriginal youth in the Department. Also new, the United Nations establishes the Secretariat for the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and Earl Charters captivates audiences in India with his world famous interpretation of the Hoop Dance.
