![]() 2-02647 KINGSCLEAR BAND RECEIVES INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDINGFREDERICTON, New Brunswick (May 17, 2005) - The Honourable Andy Scott, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians and Member of Parliament for Fredericton, announced today an investment of $67,500 from the Government of Canada to assist the Kingsclear Band with the planning and design of a 25 lot subdivision and road reconstruction. “The Government of Canada is working in partnership with First Nations to ensure appropriate infrastructure is in place to improve the quality of life in First Nations communities,” said Minister Scott. “Investing in these infrastructure projects with the Kingsclear Band will lead to a more solid foundation for economic development opportunities for this community.” Kingsclear Band is adjacent to 14.4 kilometres west of Fredericton, New Brunswick, and has an on-reserve population of 610.
