Canadian Partnership - Together in Action

Within the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Canadian Partnership Branch (CPB) is responsible for international cooperation programs with colleges, universities, companies, non-governmental organizations, cooperatives, unions, professional associations and other institutions.

Canadian Partnership Branch's programs are carried out in partnership with those organizations. The Branch's main objective is to help the Agency carry out its mandate of supporting sustainable development and reducing poverty in some of the poorest developing countries in the world.

Partner organizations design and carry out projects that aim at improving quality of life and building the capacities of local private sector and civil society. In turn, the resultant partnerships promote knowledge development and creativity in the voluntary and private sectors, both in Canada and in the developing country.

Canadian Partnership Branch, working with almost 850 partners, currently participates in 1,300 international cooperation programs and projects by offering strategic advice, sharing knowledge, and providing financial support.
