Transport Canada > Civil Aviation > Aircraft Certification

The Aircraft Certification Branch is currently working on the development of an accountability framework that will eventually result in a regulatory initiative aimed at clarifying and improving the roles and obligations of applicants and holders of approvals/certificates, the Minister and its delegates in the certification of aeronautical products. This project will allow implementation of a regulatory structure permitting the recognition of the knowledge and technical capability of design organizations and individuals while facilitating the implementation of Safety Management System principles within the aircraft certification environment.
