Canada welcomes TRANSED 2007
Canada is proud to host the 11th
International Conference on Mobility and
Transport for Elderly and Disabled Persons (TRANSED),
to be held June 18-21, 2007, at the Palais des
congrès de Montréal under the theme "Benchmarking,
Evaluation and Vision for the Future".
The conference will review advances in
research, profile international
breakthroughs and explore perspectives for
technological innovations in order to
respond to the mobility challenges of an
aging population and of persons with
disabilities, as part of an inclusive
society.The conference will offer an
exhibition where participants will have an
overview of the deployment of innovation in
the field of accessible transportation. Canada is delighted to host the 11th TRANSED

at the TRANSED 2007 conference.
Exhibition
Exhibit space is selling fast; reserve your
space now and benefit from the reduced fees
for early bird reservations which will end
January 15, 2007. To this end, you can now
consult the Interactive Exhibition Floorplan
where you will be able to see which
exhibitors have confirmed their
participation to date and to reserve your
space by completing the
Secure Online Application Form. A
Public Day will be held on June 18,
2007, (free entry) and a Delegates Day
on June 19, 2007, where you will be able to
showcase your products and services to
representatives from 38 countries, including
Canada, the United States, Europe, as well
as many from Asia.
International Steering
Committee Meeting in Montréal, October
16-17, 2006
The On-site International Steering Committee
meeting gave members an opportunity to visit
the conference and exhibition venue, the
main conference hotel and the surrounding
facilities for the purpose of assessing the
accessiblity aspects of these venues prior
to the Conference. The Co-Chairs, Arlene
Turner, Director General, International and
Intergovernmental Relations, Transport
Canada, and Gavin Currie, retired from the
Canadian Transportation Agency, also hosted
a Planning Meeting to provide an update on TRANSED
2007 activities and to seek the input of
Committee members on the technical program,
technical tours, social program, exhibition,
budget and sponsorships. The members were
pleased with the organization of this event
and encourage everyone to participate by
registering now using the
Online Registration Form.
