Screening ProcessThe screening process for the 2005/06 campaign was broken down into 4 stages. In order to proceed to the next stage, applicants must have satisfied the criteria established. Stage IApplicants were required to complete and submit documentation as required by the Aboriginal Declaration Process (ADP). This process is the accepted method of validating the Aboriginal ancestry of potential employees of Indian and Northern Affairs. The ADP requires candidates to submit an Aboriginal Declaration Form and the Aboriginal Acknowledgment Form by the closing date of the posting. In addition, applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree by July 2005. Result
Stage IIThis stage required applicants to write the Situational Judgement Test (SJT) and either the Written Communication Proficiency Test (WCPT) or the Examen de communication écrite (ECE). The pass mark for the SJT was set at 72 out of a possible score of 100. The pass mark for the WCPT/ECE was set at 35 out of a possible score of 50. In order to move onto the next stage, applicants must have had passing marks for tests they wrote. Result
Stage IIIStage III required applicants to write the Written Communication Test (WCT). The pass mark for the WCT was set at 66%. Result
Stage IVApplicants were invited to participate in an interview to determine their potential for success as an employee of the department. The interview was conducted over the phone by Aboriginal employees from Indian and Northern Affairs. The questions for the interview were based upon departmental competencies. Each competency was ranked on a 5 point scale. Result
Candidate Summary
Inventory AvailabilityAt this stage, the inventory has 8 participants who have successfully satisfied all screening stages for inclusion in AURI. There is no further testing or stages remaining that would eliminate candidates from the inventory. Summarized candidate profiles will be made available to hiring managers within Indian and Northern Affairs as soon as their profiles have been completed. |
