FedNor is committed to improving access to capital for small and medium-size enterprises in the North by working through a wide range of partners that provide financial assistance to Northern Ontario businesses that may not have the conventional means to finance.

FedNor knows that many Northern businesses need financial assistance to compete globally or to sometimes simply expand their horizons locally. FedNor stimulates investment in higher-risk enterprises through loan loss reserves with financial institutions and by providing capital to community-based investment funds.

In addition, Community Future Development Corporations (CFDCs) located in Northern Ontario can provide access to capital via loans, loan guarantees or equity investments in order to create or maintain employment.
