Going International

As part of FedNor’s comprehensive Team Northern Ontario Trade Strategy released in the spring of 2003, the FedNor International Business Centre (IBC) opened its doors in September 2003 with the goal of developing the trade capacity of Northern Ontario businesses.

While the FedNor IBC is responsible for the implementation of the trade strategy and is FedNor’s focal point for trade and tourism program development, five recently created Community-Based Trade Organizations (CBTOs) located across the North serve as the first points of contact for Northern Ontario small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and First Nations. The CBTOs facilitate and support information exchange, training, counselling and the sharing of best practices for export and trade initiatives.

For more information on the activities of the FedNor IBC or to learn how your export/trade needs can be met, contact your local CBTO or call FedNor at 1-877-333-6673. You can also visit the Team Northern Ontario Web site at www.teamnorthernontario.com for information on the latest trade mission opportunities for Northern Ontario exporters.
