Zooming In: See more detail

Use the
zoom in tool to display less of the map in more detail. Click on the
tool and then, while holding down your left mouse button, draw a rectangle on
the map surrounding the area you'd like to see in more detail.

Use the
zoom out tool to display more of the map in less detail. Click on the
tool and then, click on the point in the map that you'd like to appear in the
centre of the "zoomed out" map.

Use the
unzoom tool to "zoom out" and display the entire map of the Island.

To move up, down, right or left from your current location on the map, simply
click on the
pan tool, move your mouse to the map, and click and hold
the left mouse button while you drag the map in the desired direction.

For many of the features on our maps, we have additional information available.
If, when you're pointing at a feature, your mouse pointer turns into a "hand", then
you can double-click on that feature to get more information.
Zoom Goto: Jump to a location

Use the
zoom goto tool to zoom in on a particular feature
on the map. A dialog box will appear offering you a choice of what type of feature to
search for, a blank to fill in with what you want to search for, and a "zoom to
width" box to indicate how far you want to see around the feature. For example,
to jump to the 5 miles around the community of Kingston, click
zoom goto, select "Community/Geographic Feature"
from to
Category list, type "Kingston" in the
Location field, type "5"
in the
Zoom to width field and click on
OK.
Printing Maps

You can print out any map at any scale you see on the screen. To print, left click your mouse on the map, then right click to bring
up the menu and simply select
Print this Map. Or you can just select
Print this Map below the map window.
