HELP

Navigation

Assistance is provided by the left navigation bar, which displays the main sections of the Treaties of Canada site. When clicking on "Treaty Section", you will see a description of the mandate and functions of the Treaty Section. When clicking on the "Treaty List", you will have access to a search chart.

Search engine

You can have access to general information, which is different from the information you can obtain from this site, by clicking on the Search button at the top of the page.

If you know the publication number of a treaty, you can do a quick search by writing it as follows: year/number (for example 1999/2). Likewise, if you know the date of signature, write it this way: yyyy/mm/dd

For a detailed search, you can select one of the three available buttons from the left side of the screen.

"All" The first engine will lead you to information, in a non-discriminatory manner between the bilateral and multilateral treaties, by entering either one or several subjects and/or one or several keywords.
"Bilateral" The second engine is designed to find information on bilateral treaties. You may choose one or several subjects (ctrl + primary mouse button), one or several countries. You can search for information on treaties with one or several international organisations by using the same procedure.
"Multilateral" The third engine allow you to search for information on multilateral treaties to which Canada is a signatory, a party or for which it is a depository.
