A Week in Golf Heaven

What's your idea of golf heaven? Why not check out the following week-long itinerary which will have
you on the fairways from sunrise to sunset and provide you with a variety of backdrops including
coastal dunes, bluer-than-blue breathtaking ocean views, greener-than-green forests and lush rolling farmlands.
And, if a week isn't long enough, or you want to add more golf to this already-busy week, there are lots more
courses to choose from.

Travel to Brudenell River
Golf Course located approximately 45 minutes east of Charlottetown
(18 holes, 5,655 yards, Par 70). The Robinson-designed Brudenell
course is extremely scenic, particularly the holes that stretch alongside the
Brudenell River.
Brudenell
has been a favourite playing ground for PEI's own top LPGA golfer, Lorie Kane.
While at the Brudenell
Resort, don't forget to visit the Canadian Golf Academy. The
academy offers afternoon workshops, week-long courses as well as state-of-the-art practice facilities, including a
9-hole practice course.
Start the day off by golfing the newly opened Dundarave
Golf Course (18 holes, 7,284 yards, Par 72) before driving approximately 30 minutes to
Belfast Highland Greens ( 9 holes,
3,209 yards, Par 37). Designed by Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry,
Dundarave opened in July 1999 and along
with its adjacent course, Brudenell,
forms half of Atlantic Canada's first 36-hole championship facility.
An early start this morning will allow you to play Avondale
Golf Course (18 holes, 6,900 yards, Par 72) on your way to Lakeside
where you can enjoy golfing the The Links At Crowbush Cove
(18 holes, 6,901 yards, Par 72). This stunning Tom McBroom-designed course has nine water holes and eight holes near
the famous dunes on the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Crowbush
was awarded a 5-star rating from Golf Digest and is listed among the "Sweet Sixteen" top courses worldwide.
You'll be heading westward on the Island to play
Glasgow Hills Resort & Golf
Club, (18 holes, 6,800 yards, Par 72) approximately 1 hour from
Crowbush. This course, designed by
noted architect, Les Furber, features sensational views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the
Clyde River.
Travelling toward PEI's north shore, you can spend the morning golfing the historic
Green Gables Golf Course
(18 holes, 6,459 yards, Par 72), located in Cavendish,
PEI National Park. Designed by Stanley
Thompson and built in 1939, this course was an early bird to the PEI golf scene. Just off the 11th fairway is Green
Gables, the fictional home of Anne Shirley in Lucy Maud Montgomery's classic tale, Anne of Green
Gables.
An hour's drive westward will take you to the next golfing destination at
Mill River (18 holes, 6,826 yards,
Par 72). Designed by Robbie Robinson and Graham Cooke, this course is continually rated as one of North America's best
golf values, and one of the sternest tests in Eastern Canada.
Golf Mill River and
head back to Charlottetown, an approximate
two-hour drive eastward, where you can overnight at any of the first-class
accommodations available downtown. Enjoy an evening
dining in one of the fine restaurants
in Charlottetown, and perhaps take in one of the
offerings at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
Within a ten minute drive east of Charlottetown,
you'll arrive at the Fox Meadow Golf and
Country Club (18 holes, 6,835 yards, Par 72). Designed by Rob Heaslip, this championship class course overlooks
the historic and beautiful Hillsborough
River.
