The Coordination & Policy
Branch is responsible for monitoring emerging or potential major regional transportation
issues, priorities and concerns. This activity includes undertaking a prompt and thorough
analysis of transportation matters and advising senior management on the potential impacts
to be expected and opportunities to be explored. This office also provides supporting
policy advice and analysis to the HQ Policy Group as well as assists in conference
facilitation for west coast transportation activities.
The Branch keeps stakeholders informed of transportation issues through its involvement in
organizations such as Pacific Northwest Corridor, the Greater Vancouver Gateway Council,
the Fraser Basin Council, the Pacific Northwest Economic Region, and the Western
Transportation Advisory Council.
The Branch is committed to developing effective transportation policy through its
participation in Canada Marine Act activities, the Marine Advisory Council, its monitoring
of major grain transportation issues in B.C., and various corridor
studies.
