The 2001-2003 Sustainable Development Strategy was tabled in Parliament in February 2001. In June of 2000, national stakeholder consultations were held on the development of the strategy. A discussion paper, Towards Sustainable Transportation, May 2000, formed the basis of the consultations.
In 2003, a management review was undertaken on Transport Canada's 2001-2003 Sustainable Development Strategy. Transport Canada assesses its progress on an annual basis and reports through the Departmental Performance Report (DPR) as well as through a supplemental progress report.
