CHILD WELFARE SOCIAL WORKERS
in Prince Edward Island
Permanent and/or temporary positions are available immediately in Child Welfare settings across Prince Edward Island. This recruitment process will be used to fill Social Work positions at all field levels within the health regions.
Registered Social Workers will work in a team environment and be responsible for delivering a range of Child Welfare services specifically providing services to children and families under the authority of the Child Protection Act. Child Welfare Social Workers will be responsible for a variety of duties that may include the following: investigations; assessments; intervention work with families and children in receipt of child protection services; foster care recruitment and support; and adoption.
On Prince Edward Island, Child Welfare Workers will work in either rural or centralized settings. Internal and provincial training specific to the role will be provided.

Qualifications: Applicants must have completion of a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited university and be eligible for registration with the PEI Social Work Registration Board. Direct child welfare experience would be considered an asset. Applicants will be asked to provide a criminal records check, confirmation of credentials, valid driver's license and a minimum of three professional and/or educational references.
