Government JobsHOME / JOBS / HEALTH CARE JOBS / (#100051) Diagnostic Sonographer, Diagnostic Imaging Department, Prince County Hospital, Summerside, Prince Edward Island Full-Time (100%) Temporary (IUOE) Position   Department: Health Location:Diagnostic Imaging Department, Prince County Hospital, Summerside Beginning immediately for approximately 3-6 months with possible extension Department of Health Location - Diagnostic Imaging Department, Prince County Hospital, Summerside, Prince Edward Island: The Diagnostic Sonographer works in a specialized area in the Diagnostic Imaging Department and is required to have knowledge in Anatomy and Physiology and specialized training in Ultrasonography. He/she would assume basic administrative responsibilities related to the conduct of ultrasound examinations and other related and allied duties which contribute to the orderly and efficient operation of the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Qualifications: Applicants must have successful completion of a formal program of study in ultrasonography which is recognized by the Employer and be registered, or be eligible for registration, with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or the Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. The successful applicant must have a good previous work and attendance record. The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory criminal records check prior to beginning employment. Preference will be given to members of the IUOE bargaining unit of the Health Regions. THIS COMPETITION IS OPEN TO MALE & FEMALE APPLICANTS HOURS OF WORK: 75 hours bi-weekly / Days / Call back and standby shifts will be required Applicants are expected to complete the full length of this assignment unless applying for a permanent position
