About the Legislative Counsel

The Legislative Counsel Office is a division of Legal and Judicial Services and reports to the Director of Legal and Judicial Services. The chief role of The Legislative Counsel Office is to draft legislation (both Statutes and Regulations) for the Government of PEI. The Office is also responsible for updating both the Statutes and Regulations of PEI. The Legislative Counsel Office prepares legislation for Opposition members of the Legislative Assembly and amendments to bills under consideration by the members of the Legislative Assembly.
