Books About the Island
Anne of Green Gables, Bantam Paperback Cover

What can be more relaxing than the sound of surf in the summer and a good book to curl up with. There are literally hundreds of books written about Prince Edward Island available in the market today.

A brand-new book has just been published that charts the Confederation Trail in great detail. Canadian Geographic publishes this TransCanada Trail guide to PEI’s section. Written by Sue Lebrecht, the 150-page guide covers services, flora, fauna, and history, and provides maps in a section-by-section format.

Anne of Green Gables, first published in 1908, has been translated into more than a dozen languages and it is believed that more than 50 million copes have been sold wordwide. The story of the beloved Anne Shirley has captured the hearts and imaginations of readers of all ages. Lucy Maud Montgomery also published non-fiction, poetry, and several short stories.

You may wish to visit one of the 26 provincial libraries located throughout the province. You can use the online AbbyCat search engine to find books by keyword, author, title, subject and more.
